Many readers of this blog have written to me asking about how to become a vegan nutritionist. It’s such a common question—I hear it several times a month—that I’ve created a separate page for my rather lengthy answer. You can read my thoughts and ideas and advice about getting involved in the field of vegan nutrition here.
Jack also has an excellent article on this same topic, covering quite a few additional points, at VeganHealth.
My mother is one of the world’s most highly respected nutritionists, and if asked to provide evidence of the claim, could spend weeks putting together a list of her accomplishments, awards, achievements and other prestigious honors with which she has been bestowed.
I had honestly never considered vegetarianism or veganism until recently. I am one of those weird people that has an uncanny relationship with animals – wild and domesticated. Deer and wild turkeys walk right up to me. I can communicate telepathically with dogs and cats. On a recent hunting trip, I couldn’t bring myself to pull the trigger, as the poor animal had no chance given the fact that wild animals for whatever reason do not regard me as a predator or a potential threat.
Lately, when I eat, I’ve been thinking about the fact that a creature’s life was taken so that I could have that meal, and it’s a thought I’m struggling with quite a bit.
Anyway, I recently submitted an email via your contact form (I’m a first-time visitor to your site). I sincerely hope that you read my proposal, and reply to me regardless of your answer.
Thanks for helping open my eyes as I grapple with what lately has been a very challenging issue for me. 🙂
Hi. Thanks for this, I have been considering becoming an RD.
For whatever reason, I’ve grown to trust, more or less, your judgement on health matters. However I’ve always been wary of inoculations, as I have read and heard a great deal of bad about them, though I understand that you have to get them all on a regular basis to be in the medical field. Obviously you think they are fine to have, and I was wondering if you could go into this a little for me. Either way, thank you for your work.
